Quarter 2 IRP Extended Summary
The Quiet Knight

Tony wasn’t allowed to go out before he chopped wood for his father, Tony had already chopped the wood at four-thirty that morning. Tony laced up his shoes; his father thought he was going to basketball practice when really Tony was going to a live-action-role-playing (LARP) session. His father was upset that Tony didn’t really talk to him and Tony mumbled that he was sorry and drove away. Tony put on his armor and approached the group of people at his LARP session. Tony was welcomed as he reached the group, “Ah, the Quiet Knight approaches!” someone hollered. Tony noticed two new people to their group, Soraya and Horace, the two were siblings. The following day, Tony was walking into his school when he saw Soraya and Horace being bullied, Tony lifted up one of the bullies above his head and scared the rest away. Soraya was forever thankful and finally realized who he was, The Quiet Knight.
Everyone but You

Felicity’s mother had recently been engaged to a wealthy man in Hawaii, this meant she had to leave Ohio and all of her friends. Felicity had been Asher High’s Miss Pep for the past two years, she had won or her amazing baton twirling skills. Felicity finally moved to Hawaii to meet her stepfather Mr. Hunter. At her new school, Felicity didn’t fit in because some of the cool kids started calling her Fellatio instead of her real name. Over time Felicity just got over them and got a job as a fire torch twirler, the cool kids had finally noticed her. Working at her job she developed a crush on a waiter named Danny and was happy being with him instead of the “cool kids”. One of the cool kids, Kai had approached her after a show and apologized for calling her Fellatio and actually called her by her real name, she dumped his drink on his head. Finally the end of senior year came and Felicity was headed to Rogers College in Southern California and her boyfriend Danny was got a scholarship to NYU.
Freak the Geek

Kayley and Lauren were walking to their car as they discussed how much they hated traditions at Hoover Preparatory School for Girl, that’s when someone walked past them and whispered “Freak the Geek” into their ears. Freak the Geek was a tradition at Hoover where the junior class would prank the geeks in their class. Kayley and Lauren reached their car to be greeted by 50 girls with paintball guns. Running into the forest surrounding Hoover the girls chased Kayley and Lauren. Dodging paintballs and making sharp turns, Kayley lost the chasing girls as Lauren followed. Hiding under a bridge, Lauren told Kayley she felt like an orc hiding under a bridge, Kayley thought she was idiotic for saying that instead of feeling like a troll. Sitting underneath the bridge, Lauren and Kayley listened for their pursuers, they had passed. Feeling safe, Lauren and Kayley got out from underneath the bridge and started walking towards their car having a nice discussion about what defines personhood.
Underworld Summary

In the novel underworld a group of kids who hate each other are sent on a school field trip with a teacher they all hate more than each other. None of the students are thrilled about going on this trip to an island off the coast of Scotland. After the students’ names are called out to go on the trip the tension between other students builds. A student named Zesh gets selected to go but his best friend Rick is outraged when he isn’t selected to go. Another student named Fiona is looking at the trip as an opportunity to get rid of an annoying fat girl named Angie. Fiona is excited when Angie is picked to go on the trip, then crushed when she finds out she is going too. The students and Mr. Marks set sail to the island and get there to meet the lovely Ms. Soames. All throughout the week the students make fun of Ms. Soames until one night she really scares them. Zesh was talking to Mr. Marks about some caves he saw out by the ocean, Mr. Marks was telling Zesh how they were going to get to go explore those caves and learn more about them, but Zesh had to wait. The group heads into the caves and while barely into the cave Axel and Fiona start yelling at each other.
Due to the kids’ yelling a landslide shook the Earth and trapped them in the cave. During the landslide Mr. Marks got knocked unconscious, the kids didn’t know what to do with him. As the kids were arguing with each other they decided they had to go further into the caves to find the way out to the sea.The students came to a halt to rest for a little bit, while the other kids were resting Zesh and Angie decided to go look ahead to see if they could find the right tunnel. While walking, Zesh got his leg stuck in a crack. Angie, being the nice person she is, helped pull Zesh out of the crack. Afterwards, Zesh was wheezing and pulled out his inhaler. Angie was the first person Zesh had told about his inhaler. When the two got back Axel already knew about Zesh’s inhaler and saw it as a weakness.
Axel jumped Zesh and took his inhaler, he hoped this would make Zesh go with him without the extra weight (Mr. Marks). Angie attempted to get Zesh his inhaler back by jumping Axel; she lunged at Axel and he kicked her right off of him, straight into a fissure. Axel started moving on and told Zesh if he wanted his inhaler back he would have to continue with him, but he had to leave Mr. Marks behind. Zesh decided not to go with Axel but to wait for Angie with Fiona. While exploring with Zesh, Axel got stuck in a crack that lead into a bigger cavern. Once Axel got through the crack Liam went back to get the others, they finally decided to go with Angie. When the two approached the crack with Liam they tried to shove Mr. Marks’ body through first. Once all of the students were through they came to a dead end, only to be met by Angie. Angie showed them the way out to the sea, but they made it out of the caves just in time.
